Feeling free and lazy over the holidays, wanting to build your skills over your free time?

There is so much to do!

There are many opportunities you can do to help make your free time more meaningful. Here are some things you can do to make yourself stand out from others.

1. Working part-time jobs

Working part-time allows you to gain experiences and skills. What's more, is that it can help cover some of your expenses. By working part-time jobs, it can also challenge you in time management skills.

2. Volunteering

There are many volunteering opportunities available in the UK. You can search Volun-Tees and there will be opportunities from being a photographer to Fundraiser etc. Although volunteering means unpaid, you will still be able to build up your skills and networking through these experiences.

3. Be proactive

Opportunities won't stay for long, and it's up to you to take the initiative. Universities do offer some paid roles for students to work part time in campus and these can help build your problem-solving and communication skills.

4. Be part of a society

Clubs and societies are mostly run by students and there are lots of roles available for students to participate. It can be positions from the student union, voicing out on behalf of the clubs and societies or join a club and society and be part of their committee members. This allows you to up leadership and to learn to be responsible.

There are a range of opportunities available to enhance your skills and experiences. If you're having difficulty looking for one, feel free to contact the university for support and they will be able to help!
